Scalp micro pigmentation has a multitude of applications for all different kinds of people. Most commonly SMP is used for the treatment of balding and thinning hair in both men and women. However, there are so much more ways that this procedure can be used to help people. The SMP procedures that get the most frequent exposure are by far the gentlemen that were balding and/or thinning and after having gone through the procedure now look like they have a freshly shaved head of full hair. This procedure or “hair tattoo” is probably the most popular and most frequently performed in our industry. With scalp micro pigmentation we can take a head that is completely bald and create whatever type of hairline the client desires. From there we are able to fill in or tattoo the rest of the scalp to replicate a full head of hair that is freshly shaven.
Another popular application for scalp micro pigmentation is to give thinning hair a much denser look by performing micro pigmentation on the scalp under the existing hair. What this does is add perfectly sized and colored replicated hair follicles directly into the scalp which substantially reduces the appearance of the scalp showing beneath the thinning hair. This particular procedure is the favorite of our female clients but has been performed on lots of males as well.
We are also able to use scalp micro pigmentation to cross the boundaries of cosmetic tattooing. We can perform this procedure on all different types of head scars, most commonly hair transplant scars. Many clients have come to us after having unsuccessfully undergone hair transplant surgery only to lose more hair and be left with a horrible scar as a reminder. Using SMP we can precisely implant a pigment that perfectly replicates hair follicles directly into the scar tissue to make it blend and camouflage with the surrounding area.
Scalp micro pigmentation can also be used to treat clients suffering from alopecia. In the same way that we would create a new hairline or camouflage a scar, we can precisely implant the pigment into the scalp in any pattern that is necessary to match patches of hair loss with existing hair growth. The technique truly is revolutionary and the possibilities are seemingly endless when it comes to using SMP to treat hair loss and thinning of all types.
